Why can a profitable business still run short of cash?

Sales aren’t cash yet
Revenue can look healthy while unpaid invoices leave cash sitting with customers.
-
Bills come before payment
Payroll, tax and suppliers may fall due before customer payments arrive.
-
Growth needs cash upfront
New work often needs materials and wages before the additional cash arrives.
-
Rising costs reduce margins
If prices do not keep pace with rising costs, each job contributes less cash.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Cashflow Reset and Cashflow Forecast Build?
Reset is for businesses that already have a forecast or spreadsheet, but it's gone stale, broken, or you've stopped trusting it — we review and rebuild what you've got. Forecast Build is for businesses starting from nothing — we build a complete 13-week forecast from the ground up.
I don't have my numbers organised — can I still do this?
Yes. Most clients come to us without a tidy spreadsheet. We'll tell you exactly what to send through after you book, and we do the organising from there.
How is this different from what my bookkeeper or accountant does?
Bookkeeping and accounting mostly record what's already happened. We use that information to build a forward-looking view — what's coming in the next 13 weeks, where the pressure points are, and what to do about them before they hit. We're not a replacement for your bookkeeper or accountant, and we work alongside them, not instead of them.
Do you offer refunds?
If you cancel a Reset or Forecast Build before we've started work, you'll receive a full refund. Once work begins, the fee is non-refundable because we've committed time to your project. Cashflow Partner can be cancelled at any time with 14 days' written notice.
Are you a licensed financial adviser?
No — Tidal Cashflow Advisory is not a registered tax agent, BAS agent, financial adviser, or AFSL holder, and nothing we provide is formal accounting, tax, legal or licensed financial advice. For decisions that need that kind of advice, we recommend speaking with an appropriately licensed professional alongside working with us.
